2. Take Your Student Accommodation Seriously

For people who take punctuality serious, planning should be expected. As such, we recommend sorting out your student accommodation even before arriving in Germany.

If the intent is to stay in an apartment, we recommend checking to make sure your school has recommendations for the area. If however, you decide to sort for your own accommodation, we recommend doing some research regarding accommodations in Germany. 3. Speaking German Is Great, But You Can Do Without It

Usually, it is required that you have a basic understanding of the German language to be able to study in Germany.

As a matter of fact, it is often recommended that you learn some German before you come to Germany, if you can. But if you do not understand Germany just yet, that’s okay. Germany being an exchange student destination makes it easy to get resources to help you learn german once you get there.

There’s also a chance that your school of study offers a program that will help you get started. There are also quite a number of private language schools you could get signed up for and learn according to your schedule.

4. Different Dialects Of German

You think German is universal in Germany? You will be surprised to know that there are different dialects of German. While there are different versions of german, most belong to either the “High German” or “Low German” Classification.

The high german is the dialect you’d be familiar with for the most part. It is being communicated in half of Germany and into Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The low german on the other hand, is the dialect that is being communicated in the North and it isn’t so common.
